It was sunset. I watched with an unwavering gaze, as a fiery red orb of light slowly sank beneath the horizon, and threads of light lingered in the sky, mingling with the rolling clouds, dyeing the heavens first orange, then red, then dark blue, until all that was left of the sunset was a chalky mauve, and then that melted away in turn as stygian darkness took over the sky. Sequin-silver stars like the glowing embers of a dying fire winked down at me, illuminating the atramentous curtain of sky, and then suddenly the clouds parted, and I found myself looking at a lustrous, argent disc casting brilliant rays of moonlight onto the dark grounds...
The beauty of the sunset only intensified Emma's pain. Without her son there could be, should be, no beauty in the world. The defiant sky adorned itself with brilliant reds and oranges, clothed itself in garish splendour. She glared back at the mocking swirls of colour, the whites of her eyes pink by crying and pinker by it's refection and without warning an epiphany struck. Her weakness was her strength. So long as she remained outwardly submissive no-one would suspect her of sabotage, murder and sedition. Then at once the inferno above became her friend, her ally, it matched the new fire kindled within her. She had found a new purpose.
Elise stumbled through the nascent snow, all about her it was cast a pinkish orange hue. The river showed the first signs of ice but where it flowed free it was striped in bands of red and black that rippled in the wintry wind. Above her the sky was ablaze with fiery colours, only broken by long trails of cloud, but for all it's brilliant flame the air remained frigid with a hint of more snow to come. The sun, now a sallow shadow of it's daytime self, had sunk low to the hills and was semi-eclipsed. She drew her worn coat around her and trudged onward, each step sinking past the top of her boots. As cold and dark as it was now, it would be nothing as compared to the blackness to come. The moon had waned to almost nothing this past month and a partial view of the stars would be no help at all.
An orange haze casted over the moving sea, reflecting off every wave. Half of a glowing, radiant light loomed on the water's horizon. A warm sensation was splashed onto my face from the beaming raysof the sun. A calmness flew by with the wind making my heart stop for a single second. You could hear the grasses rustling behind me as if they were whispering one another to hush. Dolphins leaped andsang at the golden sunlight before them. The birds huddled with their loved ones knowing of the day's end. Finally, the sun disappears along with its shine. But the stars peek out under the black, night sky. We can only wait to see another magical moment of beauty and warmth. We can only wait for another sunset.
The sun set threatening to dip behind the horizon, firstly cascading a prim bombardment of colours that were flung over the sky with terrible alacrity. The receding blue and oranges battled the blackness pushing it away with arms. It shone on the lake below shining its deep depths. The radiant glow scintillated and beamed: the legacy of the sun. The sun omniscient omnipotent left hanging in the crisp air it floated downwards like a deflated balloon. Sudden darkness as receding colours routed.
The brilliant orb of amber and tangerine sunk lower and lower in the sky until it dipped down into the horizon, painting the sky in magnificent hues of fiery red and crimson. The colors faded from maroon to neon pink and majestic purple. An impossibly bright orange colored the world a sparkling gold as the sun descended. The sky changed from cornflower blue to a subtle purple, speckled with diamonds and adorned in one large orb of opal.
Night came quickly to Skeleton Key.
The sun hovered briefly on the horizon, then dipped below. At once, the clouds rolled in - first red, then mauve, silver, green, and black, as though all the colors in the world were being sucked into a vast melting pot.
I’m not sure how much time past but by the time I had calmed down the previously blue sky was streaked with the most beautiful sunset I had ever see. The sky was filled with the most brilliant orange complimented perfectly with hues of red and crimson, hints of green lingering behind with the bluish grey of the forthcoming night sky.
'Tis evening; on Winona Lake
The last glad sunbeams rest,
Shedding their golden glories o'er
Her soft and silken breast.
And as my little boat glides forth
Into their light, behold!
The splashes from my oars are like
Great drops of liquid gold.
And now a softer, richer hue
O'erspreads the western sky;
Trees, hilltops, water--everything
Seems bathed in crimson dye.
And o'er the bosom of the lake
Soft summer breezes glide,
Bringing incense from the lilies
On the other side.
I wonder, oh, I wonder so,
If in that world of bliss
Where sunsets never come, there's aught
More beautiful than this.
Oh, Father Time, if thou from me
All else that's lovely take,
Leave only in my memory
This sunset on the lake.

Looking towards the horizon I see the fiery red orb slowly dip into the ocean as though engulfed by it. Mesmerized I watch as the leaving sun dyes the heavens a bright orange and turns the ocean a deep blood red. The sky slowly turns crimson, deepens into a maroon and then lightens into a soft pink before turning into a majestic purple signaling twilight and then enveloping me in darkness. Before I could register the darkness sequin-silver stars appeared and winked at me as though we shared a funny joke. Not long after, the clouds above parted to reveal a large opal orb enveloping me in its silent moonlight. The ocean surface now shimmered with the beauty of floating diamonds with a single pearl mercilessly stealing all attention to itself.
the suns flames that give off warm rays and makes you gaze into the distanse, to absorb its power and existance, that leaves you longing for more yet your body strong and warm.. like youve made it this far and you can make it till dawn. untill once again its time to start the begining and finish with the end.
Crimson, amber and tangerine beams were thrown into the dusty sky, its beautiful colours embracing the heavens gracefully. A lustrous orb of blazing flames was sinking steadily beneath the horizon, bright pink wisps of clouds partially cloaking the magnificent globe. A tenebrous figure stood on a spur of rock, no more than a silhouette against the aesthetic sky; it seemed small and insignificant compared to such grandeur.
The world was a beautiful place, once, in my imagination. As a young child I always dreamed of what it would be like to grow up, become independent, move away to an island of pure paradise. Where the sun sat half-exposed at the horizon, showing off its tinted citrus hues on the calm surface of the underworld, where I could stand with the water curling around my toes, as I looked out to the silhouettes of palm trees on the neighbouring island, and where I could watch the golden butter-coloured sun slide dramatically behind the skyline, leaving the bold white moon to shine silver beams on the rippling facade.
When the sky starts becoming rose,
like a beautiful gleaming ruby,
its what the sun for us chose,
to let the night fly with fury,
the indigo cloak starts covering the world,
hiding something we cant see,
I'm not scared of the dark,
I feel sad inside of me,
sad that another day is lost,
in the big circle of time,
sad that I cannot run away,
and go as far as I can climb,
because sunset is like death,
it is sun's final breath,
and even though it is not so,
I don't want the sun to go.
The sky was turning from blue to pink as the sun neared the horizon. It was becoming windy and clouds began to flow around the color of the clouds became orange and pinkish. The cloud cover brought different colors to the sky, consisting of blue, white, pink, orange and purple. The gentle breeze made leaves rustle in a rhythm and as you back away from the city noise, you easily hear the music of nature. It was a pleasant weather and it was quite soothing and refreshing. This time of the day really seemed to be magical, as it was very beautiful.
