Dystopian

Corruption was synonymous with government, power the same thing as money and the money controlled by independent financiers who's names were never on the ballot papers. The people could vote for whoever they wanted, left or right. They could choose to give their wealth away fast or slow, all the while being distracted by debates that just didn't matter. That was the time change would happen or not, the turn toward a brighter future achieved or not, all happening in a narrow window before technology enabled a total surveillance state.

America, the brave,
Home of the free.
The country that made man a slave,
Participating in murder to the third degree.

America, allowing repeats,
Feeding foreign countries.
Starving people on our streets,
Judging the girl for the infant she carries.

America, presenting the dream,
Taking action in liberty.
Sending young men and women to war at age eighteen,
Neglecting the needy.

America, portraying hegemony,
Offering children a brighter future.
Convicting spouses of adultery,
Still practicing forms of torture.

America, home of the highly achieved,
Furnishing prosperity.
Illustrating greed,
And inhumanity.

America, housing the incredible,
Creating new inventions.
Making life insufferable,
Bearing children with cocaine addictions.

America, where intelligence begins to blossom,
Building self esteem by jumping to an applause.
Bandaging up the problem,
Without really fixing the cause.

America
America
America

The government, so easy to control. All you had too do was either make a bribe, blackmail them or corrupt them. If you pay a lot of money to right person at the right time, they can be bribed. Today was the election, they had payed off many people to get Adam to be the president. After that they would steal all of the top secrets from the military. Then they would hold the world hostage by threatening to sell them to unstable countries or terrorists unless the ten richest countries gave them one trillion dollars.

Our government’s job isn’t to keep election promises, it is to bow to the “money” and keep us working, paying tax. It’s a mistake to elect representatives and sit back while they “get on with it.” They’re corrupted before the ballots are cast. They’re too bamboozled with lobbyists and dazzled by greed to see daylight let alone the “big picture.” The world will burn before they make any difference at all. I read a good quote recently, “In the age of information, ignorance is a choice.” And even better, from the First Nations, “All Life is sacred. We come into Life as sacred beings. When we abuse the sacredness of Life we affect all Creation.” I gotta admit, when I read that one I felt like a teenager who’s hit twenty one and sees their parents in a whole new light. I could hear my “inner derp” saying, “When did they get so smart?” The truth is, the First Nations were the smart ones all along, it’s us that’s catching up to them, waking up. I can only hope it’s not too little too late.

[The banks] are the most powerful lobbyists on Capitol Hill, and they, frankly, own the place.

The man kept his face neutral, but he was too smug. His lips twisted into a half smirk as he thought about the money. It could do so many things, it really was happiness.

Electricity shot through his veins, and he swore he could almost feel the power rippling through his skin. His mouth twisted up into a horrendous grin, and his eyes narrowed at the small girl.
"Do you KNOW who I am? I am the monster that haunts your dreams. I am the creature lurking under your bed and in the dark corners of your closet. I am Virus." His grin was warped and horrid, a cackle similar to nails on a chalkboard and a crow's call escaping his lips.

"The Federal Reserve banks are one of the most corrupt institutions the world has ever seen. There is not a man within the sound of my voice who does not know that this nation is run by the International bankers."
