The gargantuan crystalline structure that towered three thousand feet above the lunar surface was both menacing and bewildering to behold.
Meteoric bombardment over the aeons had left the outer mantle battle beaten and war scarred, and a myriad fractals of light as the morning sun reflected from a myriad shards of frosted glass, gave the monolith an ethereal, spectral appearance.
