After the workhouse orphanage, after serving as a morse code signalman, after been injured in WWII, he sought to spend the rest of his days in peace and comfort. He loved the sea, to bowl, to listen to his radio. He became a man of thought after a childhood and early adulthood of trauma. He was a credit to himself and his family, my Grandfather, and we loved him.
