All our lives we take each breath for granted. We assume both that the oxygen will be there and our body will be able to absorb it in sufficient quantity to sustain healthy life. Perhaps that is why we let the forests be destroyed and pollution spill into the air, sea and land. All these assumptions. I can tell you from experience that lack of breath is akin to drowning. You are in the air and drowning. So there is no option to swim up. You can go outside for better quality air if you are lucky enough to live in a place with less pollution. You can go to a hospital and hope they have supplies. The best thing to do, however, is to prepare before it ever happens. Be fit. Get in shape. Get a better routine. Evolve your eating habits rather than diet. Take out one bad thing at a time and replace it with one good thing. Get used to each new good habit before you make any other changes. Make exercise a daily thing, just a YouTube workout or two. That way, if by virus or other reason you find yourself struggling to bring in enough oxygen, your cardiovascular system will cope better with the amount of tissues it is expected to supply. Anyway, for what its worth, that's my recommendation from personal experience.
Lack of breath is felt through my body, that feeling of tiredness and lethargy. For as my lungs work to bring in the much needed oxygen, even then I feel as if I am drowning in the air. The only way to feel better is to get fresh air, to sit outside even if only for a while. The fresh air is better, cleaner, and in it I'm not drowning anymore. I have a life-ring out here and a gentle tow to shore.
