We are the seals. We go and fight missions that seem impossible, until we win. This time we volunteered to fight for the enemy. Once in we turned their fighters into willing prisoners of war, got them asylum and a new start. They were just kids roped into being soldiers. Well, blow that for a game of soldiers! It was time they went home... or to a new home... whatever we could do. There are many ways to decimate an enemy army. We did good. We stopped the war much faster. Less parents lost their kids. More civilians lived. This is what being a seal is all about.
There are times I wondered about being a navy seal, if I'd made the right choice in this world. Yet if we won't protect then don't love, or at least that's what my heart tells me. People need a safe life, we need stability, because if we lose that, if we can't help ourselves, then we certainly can't help others either. So I pressed that button and I realise it can't be undone. A functional world can only grow from areas that do function, negative chaos is the enemy of all. So I put on this seal uniform and lace up these boots with pride. I am who I am.
He'd been trained for this of course, navy seals are, yet he was human. There was a part of him he'd locked away to do this job, and he'd suffer if he ever tried to unpack it. It's part of the sacrifice protectors make. His conscience was clear, I could tell, yet we aren't born for this, it is a thing we can become when need arises.
I never thought soldiers would be thinkers, but this navy seal was a philosopher once he was off duty. In uniform he knew his job, in my arms, I guess he knew his job too.
He was a navy seal, still jacked, still moved as those military guys do. He did his duty, took care of everyone else and thought nothing of it at all. I guess that's the way the hero brain is, they never see their good deeds as much, it's as if their brain is properly earthed, that they are safe to plug into.
