Aaron took the time to fall in love with the land, with all of her inhabitants from the deep rich earth to the birds that played upon wing. And for this reason he went to agricultural school, for this reason he earned a degree in ecology, for this reason he studied plant genetic resources and biodiversity. He was a farmer. He was a feeder of his community. He one who put thousands of loaves of bread upon thousands of tables.

Agriculture is our culture, for we are sons and daughters of the land, of creation. To live in these sustainable ways, to care as good caretakers of what we have been freely blessed with, is our sacred duty. We farmers are custodians of so much biodiversity, so much of God's creation. Agriculture, hand in hand with mother nature, I hope we can agree, is the kind of culture everyone needs.
