Her fingers, old though they were, touched as softly as the wands of new spring foliage. From her eyes to the warmth of her smile, she was a conduit for happiness, as if the universe chose her to channel its positivity through. So as she reached out those aged hands to bid me good journey, I did the same, and there was something magical in it.

His fingers were long and slender, easily sweeping over the keys of the piano, as if casual wind fluttering across the surface of sand and shifting it into motion so easily. Unlike others' his fingers were thin and frail, shaped by prominent phalange bones and knotted where the joints curled around the ends of each long and short bone in his hands. There was no muscle tone or fat definition and his skin was only the layer of dust so fine over the polished white underneath.

The cancer had hit her aunt hard. She hadn't seen her for a time and was struck by her thinness. Her once plump hands were skin over bone. The fingers now appeared longer and they bulged at the knuckle. When Aunt May grasped her hand in greeting it was fleeting and weak. It wasn't just fat she had lost. Her wedding band was loose and the bangles she always wore were in danger of slipping over her wrist.
