It is so rude to say "bony," for the eye of the kind sees slender or lithe grace, or perhaps the fingers of a piano player.

Her fingers, old though they were, touched as softly as the wands of new spring foliage. From her eyes to the warmth of her smile, she was a conduit for happiness, as if the universe chose her to channel its positivity through. So as she reached out those aged hands to bid me good journey, I did the same, and there was something magical in it.

If everything is described in the negative, is it any wonder we struggle to find joy in everyday moments? Are my fingers "bony" or "slim"? For brains that say such things are taking small steps into cold emotional indifference, into objectifying rather than humanising others. These little words matter because they influence our brain development one neuron at a time.
