Somewhere beneath the creative outpourings of the children resides the kitchen table, always content to stay quietly beneath, yet at times be revealed upon the random cleanings that come as welcome storms.

Emma sees the pre-made craft ideas the same way people see cars on the street, seeing but not seeing. Already her brain is alive with her own creations and she makes a bee-line for the boxes of card and ribbon. Ms Tam watches as people watch cars on the street, watching and not watching, until there is a way to help. "Would some glue be useful, maybe some scissors?" she asks.

Emma nods, "Yes, not right now, but later." Ms Tam smiles and fetches them both, settling once more to help the other children. In the periphery of her vision the free-wheeling art continues, the child engrossed in her imagination. After some time there is quite a mess.

Ms Tam sits next to Emma, "I think you could do with a cleaning assistant, lots of creative people do." In companionable quietness morning becomes afternoon...
