The key to choosing the right perfume for Eleanor, was not its expense, yet she wasn't in the least bit bothered about the money. She simply felt that she could hardly accept the fragrance of flowers if the production of it had cost the earth. She wanted not simply eco-friendly, or some greenwashing pap, yet fragrance that told a story of meadows planted and habitats restored.

The most expensive of perfumes became such because they funnelled their profits into the restoration of flower meadows and the planting of forests. Instead of empty fluff and egomania, they became a willing Robin-Hood industry with the rich happy to be "robbed" for the cause.

Perfumes were all about deep soul connections between those we love and God's evolved flora, to take one experience of love and marry it to another, to heal us from the inside one invisible stitch at a time. As such they were never expensive to us, yet as priceless as the good health of the natural world.
