Fashion got a lot better when we asked fit people to become our models instead of thin people. The clothes fitted great and soon young girls especially were getting fitter instead of starving themselves. Role models are important, and fashion models certainly are.

The town expressed its culture in those colours, patterns and shapes. We were proud of our fashion. But we made our clothes to last too, kept items for a decade or more, only replacing them when they became thin and holey.

For the fashion dresses and clothing folks wanted to switch up, we still made the kind of quality that lasts, but we let folks borrow and return them. That way people could experiment and try new styles without it costing the Earth.
