fries - quotes and descriptions to inspire creative writing
I watched, disgusted as my boyfriend shoved a handful of fries into his mouth, making a contented noise at the back of his throat. He washed it down with a large gulp of soda and took a large chunk of his burger. I looked at the mountain of fries on his plate and couldn't seem to understand why he enjoyed it so much. Grease oozed from the pile, soaking the flyer underneath, yet it still had an unnatural sheen to it. It wasn't even a golden colour as seen in the ads. It was a sickly pale beige, accentuated further by the contrasting bright red of the ketchup that had been slathered all over it. Gross.
The fries stayed in the cardboard packaging which soaked up all of the disgusting grease.
The fries, drenched in tomato sauce, lie on the table and across the platter that he carries towards me. The soft crunchy texture of the fries brushes past my lips, the salty flavour never leaving my mouth.
