nightgown - quotes and descriptions to inspire creative writing
Last night I dreamt of being put in a nightgown. It was that awful flannel material, soft, but reminiscent of those cloths they used to change babies on before everything went vinyl. It was drab too, mostly beige but with hues of pink and blue so soft you could barely see them. Like it had been washed hundreds of times. It's weird you know, because I'd rather sleep naked than in one of those things. I used to have them as a girl and by the morning I'd wriggled so much it was right up around my waist and bunched uncomfortably behind my back. PJ's or nothing - that's my rule. Nightgowns should only be used to keep you warm if they're on a bonfire.
Her form-fitting nightgown was a pristine white. It pooled around her like liquid silk. The silk caressed her skin like a cool autumn breeze. She fell into the bed and pulled the thick, plush comforter to her chin.
Her long legs were tucked to her chest, her raven black hair fanned underneath her head she murmured something in her sleep. Slowly I picked her small body up, her white nightgown hung to her body as I carried my little girl upstairs to her room.
