His Mom described him as spiteful. He figured he just evening the misery out. If something was making him unhappy he felt it was his right to bring at least equal measures of unhappiness to others. Why not?

He was spiteful to the end. Even when he knew his own execution drew near he would be tormenting the other prisoners with his creative tales of how torturous their deaths would be. He enjoyed seeing their despair and somehow it made his own more bearable.

As he turned his head to see what had made the loud bang, his cake slid from his plate. He was angry. He looked at his sister who was ogling at his splatted cake on the floor and he lashed out at her plate, sending her cake right into her face and then skidding down her black uniform.

She knew she'd failed the test the minute she looked at the paper, her mind was a blank, no answers came to mind. But she'd be damned if she'd let Alex pass. She could see her scribbling answers at the desk in front of her. So when it came time to leave she stole her answer paper from her desk and hid it up her sweater. There, now she'd fail too. Ha.
