training - quotes and descriptions to inspire creative writing
The Flow Rider must first go into a phase of training to align them, much as the atoms in iron must align to create a magnet, the Flow Rider must gain their polarity to the Divine Force. Until then their information is a mixture of each, woven, and (to the untrained) appears as any creative stream.
I was at the track as often as I could. Putting one foot in front of the other, pushing myself harder, choosing to do one more set than my coach ever asked for - that was how I felt a sense of control. Training is how I built a sense of self esteem. I made my own label. I was an athlete, a runner, a member of an elite team and not just some girl who got bullied by jerks... jerks I could beat with ease on the track. Looking back, I can see them for what they were, sad kids with sad existences that probably still have small lives... I went a lot further than them and I credit my running coach with teaching me that I could be great, teaching me how to train, building me into someone who can make harder choices when they make me stronger. That training, that track experience, it got me through university, it got me through a lot, it taught me how to become a professional. Adapt and overcome. What else are you gonna do?
I wish everyone could feel the benefits real training gives you... not the crap school PE version of sport... but how it feels to work with a real coach and team you matter to... to feel your body getting stronger as the months progress.
I could breathe out there on the track, that soft tarmac that ate up my strides. I felt fast out there, exhilarated. To feel one's own strength, to feel one's own body flying at such speeds, it feeds back right into the soul and keeps the inner flames healthy and bright.
When we trained, we competed, yet we were a tribe too. We got each other. We were all there because we loved to run, because training brought real gold into our lives and raised us up to more than we would otherwise have ever been.
