Greg was in militant mood,"Eating fish? Go fish! That's about as moral as buffalo hunting was. You know we'll have empty oceans by 2048 if this goes on, right? Oh yeah, and then we all die. So, there's that. Fuck tuna."

Lacey shrugged, "I'm with you, Bud. I'm pro animal rights, pro healthy oceans, but I'd die if I ate what you eat. I need fish on my plate and meat too. Perhaps it's a little unfair of you to make that comparison?"

Tuna, as with other fish, is very sensitive to pain and lives in a community with a social life. Is that the hook you need to go plant based? Because the industry only cares about gross and net.

You can throw out the tuna, this message is pitch perfect. Don't fork this up people. The entire industry is fishy and fish heads are stinky.

There is no dolphin safe tuna. The stamps and labels are the lies of colluding greedy assholes. If you eat it you are contributing to killing large marine mammals such as dolphins. Plus it's packed with mercury that is far more harmful to your body than we ever thought. Plant based food, anyone?

Samantha took a breath, steadied herself and then spoke, "It's okay to be enthusiastic about veganism and animal rights, I am too. It's good to care about the oceans and the fish who swim and live in the brine. I'm more than aware of the issues regarding dolphins and tuna. Yet there are some who cannot live without eating meat and fish, who cannot tolerate the processed foods that so often contain gluten, lactose or fructose. So as we speak of these food issues, let us remember to always nuance our words to show kindness to those who cannot walk this path. We can all work for better animal rights and ocean health no matter what we need to eat."
