Youtube - quotes and descriptions to inspire creative writing
Apparently the YouTube video went viral, picked up by Yahoo and most local news for the "now here's something funny/stupid" section. I'm a free public education service. Someone tried to sneak into the ward to take my picture, what's the point? All that's left of me is bandages. I can hear but not speak or see. Mom keeps telling me stories between poorly disguised sobs. Apparently I exceeded my target of a million hits by a very large margin.
I booted up my computer, my eyes glazing over as the old device tried to connect to the internet. When it finally loaded, I was greeted with a collection of videos that YouTube recommended for me. I scrolled down, seeing more videos it wants me to watch, channels it thinks I'd like. I click on one, and I'm instantly sucked back into the never ending, crimson world that is YouTube. I could watch anything, from how-to videos to vlogs, from music videos to commercials. Time flew by, and before I realized it, my mom was calling. "Time for dinner!" she shouted. I glanced at the clock beside my computer. I'd let two hours slip by! And yet, the next day, I'd allow myself to fall into the same trap.
If I had to describe youtube I'd say it was like immersion in the culture of the world. Like a window into the lives of everyday people and how wonderfully different their minds work. I'd say as entertainment it's awesome, but it can be used to stretch your understanding and empathy of others and their points of view.
Youtube's like a twenty-four hour festival for the cerebellum. It's a party for my brain. There's everything I want to see. There's tutorials for almost anything I want to know. It's people helping people through the world wide web. This is what the internet is for!
Youtube's got everything man! It's got minecraft video's, music video's and monster truck videos. But most importantly of all it's got my videos. I blow stuff up, burn it, explode it, then I put the video online on my own channel. People love that shit, it's awesome! Planning my next video is all that gets me through another day at school. Man, if it wasn't there I'd have to invent it. Youtube rocks!
