"And if you want further casual evidence of the meekness of the human being, how they are are a social animal that feels bound to social rules, go to a supermarket. Here, in a society plagued by hunger, where one in five lacks adequate nutrition, there is one uniformed guard who daily as nothing to do but stand there is if only a door greeter. It is because we are docile and cooperative that this system has been in place so long, and it is because we are docile and cooperative that the system is redundant. Food could easily be removed from the monetary system and enable the world to eat freely. With good role modelling the new societal expectations would be adopted and we would follow those patterns instead."

It is human to feel the light and the dark. It is human to have a full range of emotions - a full "tool kit." All those feelings are normal and useful depending on the situations we find ourselves in. We evolved to have them all, we just have to know when it is appropriate to use them and what to do with unwanted feelings of anger or negativity. For the most part we just need to run it out - sometimes literally. We evolved to move, to get physically tired almost daily. There isn't anything wrong with being human and there's a whole lot that's right about it. We get to choose who we are, to choose to be the angels of our better natures and build our own personhood.

There is nothing more human than feeling love. It takes over our minds, allowing us to love so many people, places, creatures. We can also love learning, discovery and achievement. Many times in our lives we are lead to believe we should either love "this or that," or "this person or that person," but love isn't like that. Love isn't limited in that way. We can love "this and that," "this person and that person." We can be less competitive, less jealous over who is the more loved. The more love we give, the more we have, like the most awesome magic trick in the world. It's part of being human - the best part.

"Fear is part of being human, David, it's the precursor to bravery. We need it, it wakes us up to what needs to be done. So feel it, own it, let it ignite your thoughts."

Humans are weird creatures. They search for perfecion in others, although there's no perfection in them. We sit around judging people simply because of one poor judgment or choice. Their interest in the same sex. Not being the right kind of shape or color. Or a tragic outcome of a family affair. The point is that it's not our place to judge. But we do.When you point at a person, five fingers are pointing back at you, or that's what my sister would say when I would rat her out. There will always be something shameful in the eyes of society. We judge to feel superior, to feel good about ourselves. Oh, she did this, which is not as bad as what I did. It seems as though what we did isn't bad anymore. Someone does something much worse and it seems to completely erases what you have done. That's what we do, whether we are aware of it or not. For the reason that we are human. Sugarcoating things have become second-nature to us. We blind ourselves from the truth in order to allow ourselves to believe we are doing right. Just so we can sleep better at night.

Tell me, is anything truly perfect in this world? Is there such a thing as the perfect body? The perfect face? The perfect family? Or even perfect love? As humans we try to create and work for perfection. Something pretty or successful to show off the world. We can do evil things to achieve our goals, if we want it bad enough. It is just instinct. In all truth, perfection does not exist in the world. This is what I have led to believe. We may reach for perfection, but we will always fail. Because we are humans. We are flawed and whatever we create will be flawed also.

We all have have urges, whims, a long yearning to do things we are not suppose to or things we shouldn't want. Everyday is a battle. A battle to not fall into those sinful desires. I was in that battle too. Unfortunately, I was not victorious. Laughter... That's all I heard, laughter and harmful words. Words that can even cut a diamond.

All alone in a world so dark, where the people are cruel and karma doesn't exist. Me, not so innocent but not yet tainted, get's treated like I'm less than human, even though I haven't done any wrong towards them. I have fallen into their lies and believed the words they tell me, but then I realized they are the same as me. I have two eyes, a mouth, a nose. I have two arms and two legs like them. If you cut me and yourself, we would both bleed red. Yet still they proceed to mock me. Ostracize me for fun. Kick me when I'm down and keep me down. But what they didn't expect was the strength and the anger that grew inside of me everyday because of their mockery. So, you see I had a reason for the monstrous things I did... I was provoked...

Eyota sat, her head slumped into her hands. Her father rested a gentle hand on her shoulder. "What is it my love, what has you so sad today?" She almost cried as she spoke, her pain inside moving like ocean waves just to speak her mind.

"People are bad," she said, "people are bad and our mother Earth is dying." Just to say it out loud let hot tears flood down her face. Her father wrapped her in his arms and let her melt into his form.

"My love, people aren't bad."

"They are! I've seen it on the television! I hear it in the news! "

"Eyota, Eyota, think of the people you actually know. Don't you see the light of the Creator within them?"

"In you, Papa, I see it in you."

"And in you too, Eytota. But His light my love, is in everyone. We come from the Creator, so how can it not be? All people are good, baby girl, they just have to reach inside and find it. Let me tell you the stories of real people I know, let me tell you of how they came through adversity to be so good to their friends, family and often times, strangers." Eyota settled down next to her father. His stories had the truth she needed...

Humans, we are overridden by our emotions and love for people and things, that can break us and we will fall so deep into a pit of grief and mourning. We are primitive and yet have much to discover but our big headed minds celebrate in our youth in the vast universe. We could be so much more if we put our pasts behind ourselves and looked into the future because without out distractions we can be anything and do everything. Our dreams are the most important aspirations and challenges we will ever meet but we aim to achieve the impossible and create the unknown. The day we grasp the idea that life exists for exploration and infinity will be the day the human race grow up into something huge and massive and you watch us run, as we spread across the universe.

"Walter, as little as you may like it, you're human. You have emotions, you cry, you feel joy, you can be scared. You can't just ignore your feelings. You may be a genius, but that doesn't change anything. So what, you were picked on as a kid, you were taught to use your brain, not your heart, but I'm sorry. If you don't get this, you're no genius."

Sometimes I wonder, no, often I wonder, imagine, search all around me, for the cause of mans belief that he is superior to the air he breathes, the butterflies he captures. Man thinks he owns the wind that hurls itself through the trees, he owns the stars in all of their vastness, the midnight murk that surrounds the soulful moon. He owns the whole galaxy, which he clamps in his fists like the fish that he has caught in the stream that is his, watching it wriggle and gasp for air. Watching death itself. That is the pride and joy man carries, his golden trophy. Man cannot wrap his arms around the Milky Way and make it his. Man cannot control the slowing beat of his heart, thickening of his blood, the fading of his thoughts, the incompetence, the suffering that comes with age. Man cannot evade Death. Man cannot evade Life. And of all, Man's deepest flaw, he cannot evade himself.
