For me, the movie theatre vs home is the difference between going to the beach and looking at a postcard.

In this, the era of a world more wild than anything we see on the silver screen, the cinema is my therapy. Before that big screen I am immersed in other worlds, my subconscious exploring solutions while my conscious brain enjoys the 'wide awake dreaming' experience.

Even if you could by a cinema for your own home with big velvet curtains and chair, it would always be a second rater compared to being at a real cinema, to experience the movie as part of a community of movie-lovers.

Jai loved the cinema. Even though he was twenty-eight he still felt like an excited ten year old when he walked through the door and saw the big screen. He'd get there early enough to snag his favourite seat, then he'd sit there hugging his family sized popcorn until the film began. He'd allow himself a few slurps of pop in the trailer, but other than that he just waited.
