He'd been a hitman for four long years to get the assignment of his dreams, protection detail to the man who'd killed millions for nothing but greed and power. It would be the shortest job he'd ever had, especially after such a long build up.

He was the best hitman for hire until he saw things that made him not care for the money any longer. He had enough money for several lifetimes. So he became a ghost, taking out human traffickers, drug dealers, mobsters and arms dealers. If he could get a pay check along the way he took it, why not? But on each mission he took out all of the evil bastards on both sides regardless of who paid what. He was the bullet in the hitman Russian Roulette chamber, a rumour, a chance that the person they hired could be their own killer.

"Hitman" wasn't the kind of career the guidance counsellor would ever suggest - it wasn't exactly what folks think of as doing a social service or good. Patrick was different though. He wanted to kill the most vile killers on Earth. He knew what he was, what he was born to do. He was a protector. So he became a hitman, chose his contracts by his own moral code, until he had the experience and the resources to start running his own intelligence ops.

He was the achilles heal hitman, a charmer and a detail-oriented planner. He'd do his research, find the evil bastard's weakness and use it against them. He'd be their best friend right up until the moment he killed them.
