General

He was the richest man in town, but you'd never know it. He lived in a cramped studio flat on the edge of the industrial area and wore only the cheapest clothes from the thrift-store. He would often go dumpster-diving when he wasn't at work. He cut his own hair and lived off tinned sardines. He used no electricity and bathed in cold water. He walked everywhere he needed to go and in the warm weather would take off his shoes to avoid the wear and tear on the heals. He never gave gifts or celebrated holidays. His idea of summer fun was to collect recyclables from the trash in the parks and turn them in for the pennies. He never gave to charity. He kept a little red book of his expenditures and his game each month was to work out how he could spend less. He was a miser.
