We don't much go in for mouse traps around here, in these parts we build the best monster traps anyone has never seen. We keep them secret you see, we make Mystery Inc. look like amateur hour.

Our exploits as monster trappers became inspiration for movies, for hearth-side bard-tales, new odes to real heroes. The villains became the cautionary tales for the young, the cowards with their cruel ways. Of course, we never confirmed nor denied those stories, we had to keep secrecy for operational efficiency and safety. We were the ghosts who did the busting. It actually wasn't a fun way of living at all, though the movies made it appear that way of course. I was always proud of my role in it though. Perhaps that made me the monster of the monsters, but I protected the meek, the innocent, the loving... and that was all that ever mattered to me.

The only way to beat the monsters is with the best bait and the best traps - we specialise in both.

We used to tame the monsters, we had a whole bit going in lullabies, heck, we still do when we can. But things got real rough around here and the monsters had invisibility cloaks, cloaking devices, everything. So now we tap, bait and trap. If they aren't a monster nothing much happens, but if they are, then we're ready. It wasn't how we wanted to keep Monster Land peaceful, we were all for that Dragon taming approach, but some monsters are too far gone for all that. We do feel bad for them, but we have a duty of protection and so we put on our Monster trappers gear and we do our jobs.

Monster trappers make magicians look ordinary. By the time we've done our work the monster is locked up for good.

The monsters could no longer hide in the dark, because we set our traps there too. The hunters became the hunted. We flipped the script.

There are animals that move and sound as monsters do, yet they do so out of a self defence strategy, a way to artificially inflate their status. There are animals that look like monsters yet are sweet and kind. The only real way to tell a monster from the rest is if they do monster things... and that's part of our monster traps... the proof is built in. We are better than magicians and movie makers... but we are fair. If they aren't a monster we will see that and they'll be on their way.

We called our monster trapping team "Scooby Doo," because we were out there to unmask villains and that old cartoon was pretty good inspiration.

Monster trappers were the law beneath the law, the boogey men of the boogey men, never officially sanctioned but a critical part of military intelligence. They made the impossible possible.

There were the monster prevention and monster rehabilitation crews, yet that wasn't our remit. We were for those recalcitrant beasts who found a sickly form of joy in evil and pursued it as their only goal. The had "outs' along the way, reasons and explanations of better ways, yet they steered themselves into their concrete suite.

We monster trappers were the predator's predator, the new top of the feud chain.
