Prague seems so small amid the forested Czech hills. When so much of Europe is browned this year from lack of rains, they still have so much greenery. It hardly seems that a large city can be here, let alone Prague, but there she is, growing larger as the plane comes in to land.
This old city of Prague is so young with life. It reminds me much of the older towns of my English home, the narrow streets and the buildings that have witnessed much history. There are the wide squares that remind me of Venice and Frankfurt, the architecture that brings Paris to the thoughts. Yet it is none of those places and neither does it require comparison to be thought well of, it is so very beautiful in its own right.
We climb the stairs two at a time, up toward the old bridge and the most spectacular view. The history here expands the brain, it just does, it gets in through those wide open eyes and does something great. These days in Prague are wonderfully long and too short.
The modern Prague around the historic centre is hotels, homes and long roads of grey tarmac much as any other urban conurbation. Trina thanked her driver and took her bag into a hotel that was so large that the airplane that brought her could have been hidden within.
