My body is divine. My soul is divine. I was born sacred. To rape such a person is to rape divinity... and it is to God whom the rapist shall answer.

In rape the only criminal is the rapist. Wow. In what world should that statement ever need saying?

To rape is an act of violence to the body and soul of the victim, to their spirit, to their enduring sense of self worth and esteem. It is an act of power, of cold indifference and is thus a form of evil.

Damage doesn't stop at one person, it rolls down generations. It's an emotional tornado that ruins lives yet to be called into existence. The rape of Tom's grandmother had closed her off emotionally from his mother and she in turn had been closed off from him. The trauma of one had transmitted to the next in a lack of nurturing, an inability to form the strength of loving bonds parents and children need. Had it not been for that fateful day fifty years previously when his grandmother had been brutalized beyond a recoverable point, his life might have turned out very differently, but we'll never know for sure...

The rapist surrendered their soul, chose power over love. Well, I choose love over power and so, regardless of the past, I am pure. Whatever they are is nothing to me. I moved on. My body is mine. My soul is mine. My future is mine.

I am a passionate lover with the one I love, when it is my choice for sex as an expression of the loving bond, of sexual divinity. To rape is violence. It is an injury to the soul and spirit as much as it is an injury to the body. The first is love. The second is emotional indifference, power and dominance. In a good world, in a love-nexus, nobody would need that explaining to them. We each have our autonomy for good reason. We each have the right to chose what does and does not happen to our own body. We are all sacred and part of creation.
