resilience - quotes and descriptions to inspire creative writing
Gabby just seems to have a resilience the others don't have. She's been through more than the rest of her friends put together with the messy break-up of her parents, the death of her brother and having to fight off a kidney infection last year. But she's still got that same up-beat personality, that same go get'em attitude and still pulls top grades at school. Maybe all those things will catch up to her one day. I hope not though. If anyone deserves a bit of happiness in life it's her, she's earned it.
The size of sure darkness and enormity pressed down on her like a storm. It crushed her will tightening it in a vice. It seemed limitless like the sea such was the darkness that overwhelmed her and chilled her skin. She endured like a pebble after lash and lash. She clung to life like a monkey clutching a banana. The rock is resilient and so is she.
The girl is like a snapshot out of time. I can see her chestnut hair blowing in the spring breeze, her youthful face turned toward the sun. Though her feet are scarred she still dances, dances like the joy of life within her cannot be tamed. In that purple shirt and jeans she could be anyone, no-one. But to me she is the world itself and without her I cannot enjoy a simple flower or the rising sun. There is nothing I wouldn't do to keep her safe from harm, but I cannot protect her forever. I can only be there when she falls and stand well back while she reaches for the stars.
