There comes a time when "pushing" one's ideas that could save our world becomes morally the right thing to do. And so, if you have the time, I urge you to read my book, "Nexus. A Treatise in Defence of Love as Mankind's Answer," so that we can rescue each other and our planet from the trouble of our current era. There is a link to a free version and a Kindle version from my bio (bio-link below).

The traditional work of mother's and women is the glue of society, providing the bed rock of mental health. Thus, in a society run with a financial system and obsessed by financial status, power and vanity, society crumbles. And so, it is not a women's issue to care properly for women, it is everyone's issue. If a woman is disadvantaged so are her kids, male and female. If a mother is disadvantaged, so is the father of her children and her parents who may be called upon for support... and her friends if her mental health suffers and she needs to reach out. Supporting women, mothers especially, is the smartest thing we can do as a society, to mend our communities and regain a sense of happiness and solidarity with one another. So to take this toxic society and make something good, caring for everyone with soulful empathy is the smartest thing we can do.

"Yeah, Zeb, this is the moron culture... 'more-on-more-on-more.' It's about as sane as running over a cliff because the rest of the herd is doing the same. It's time to stop; it's time to lead the herd to pastures new."

A toxic culture is one where people make their better natures subordinate to wealth accumulation because not to do so means they can't survive. It is a culture where the most pure souls are viewed with suspicion, of course, they must have an ulterior motive. It is one where nice guys finish last and the sociopaths win, to hell with environmental damage. It is one where a few rich dominate and the rest are treated as disposable people. It is a society where what matters is making money, taking part in the rigged game of finance for digits that have no real meaning.

A toxic culture is one in which we feel our physical appearance determines our self worth, rather than our good deeds and our kindness. A toxic culture lets advertisements spread overconsumption by invoking greed, envy and feelings of entitlement. It encourages people to be selfish, to hoard rather than to help. It disrespects other cultures and nations, making their citizens appear less than human, undesirable, unworthy and fearsome. But most of all a toxic culture misinforms people how to be truly happy, pointing them toward vanity and lust instead of self-improvement and true love. Working hard and loving fully are the keys to happiness, build something wonderful and be loyal, faithful, honest, kind. That's where happiness lies, that's how to beat the toxins.

Hank rested against the iron door, his arms fatigued and head pounding after a twelve hour shift and the same again tomorrow. His baby was crying and his wife was ready to head out the door to do her shift. He needed sleep. He climbed the stairs to Serena's crib and noticed she'd grown, his face fell like he was at a funeral - his own. How long was it since he'd last had the energy to look at her properly, hold her, cuddle her until he felt the love flowing in his veins, lifting his lips into a smile from their grim straight line. He lifted her up and heard the front door slam. Laine was gone. Tomorrow he'd take their baby to a daycare where the tired workers on minimum wage struggled to see her as anything more than one more mouth to feed and bottom to wipe. Before he knew it he felt his chest heaving in dry sobs, then the tears came. Serena calmed at the touch of her father but Hank dissolved like sugar in hot water. He and Laine had married with so much love and now they were like three people in a storm, only bumping into one another with superficial contact. What was the future? Work, eat, work, eat? Still not enough money to make ends meet and bombarded with constant advertising to make them feel inadequate, unsatisfied with the love and child God had given them...

The love that had been so strong between Mike and Lucy was locked tight behind ever growing wall of resentment, fear and fatigue. They wanted to be home for their kids but even two full time wages were barely adequate. Who cared if they saw their kids or not? Who? Did the President care? Did he care if their little family of love imploded from exhaustion while the media did nothing but fill them with fear and the advertisers encouraged vanity, greed and envy. How could they hold onto enough love to see them through? The tension brought bitter arguments and thoughts of other lovers. Their life wasn't matching up to the Hollywood version and all the while the celebrities grinned at them from the covers of magazines with salon perfect hair and teeth whiter than snow. Matt and Lucy didn't even have dental coverage for their children. All the while the kids were being groomed by the media and the adverts to be "good little consumers" and drilled at school rather than enthused with a love of learning and the ability to think critically. They were fodder for the corporations, raised to be put in boxes like factory farmed chickens, robots of flesh and blood being programmed by the non-stop barrage of information that said, "Be afraid, don't trust, love is something you buy, you must be skinny, indulge yourself..."

Abortion should never be a means of condemning a woman, it is more a measure of the health of a society. The only time any animal kills its own young is when they fear the alternative more. So any place where women kill their unborns, that society is toxic to that woman. An abortion to a woman is a form of spiritual self-harm, it isn't an action she would take if the alternatives didn't scare her more. It is only healthful to bring a child into a world where it can receive the Love it needs. It is better by far to use contraception and only bring a child into a healthful and environment with Love.

Sally ran her hand over her ribs, they were quite apparent now, but her face still didn't look like the cover of Vogue or Elle magazine and so she still had work to do. Love was for the pretty, the thin and she wasn't there yet. Cut a few more meals, run round the block every morning before school... She tied her bleached hair into a bun and hitched her skirt a little shorter before throwing a cup of water down her throat and leaving the house.

All you are to me is a hot body. I don't want to get to know you so don't tell me about your parents or your stupid dog, I don't care. Get some make-up on, wear something sexy and hold my arm. This is a one night deal, no do-overs unless you blow my mind six ways from Sunday before dawn, then I might grant you one more night. There's nothing special about you, so don't try to convince me that there is. I've had better, we'll soon find out if I've had worse. Don't pout, I'm not your daddy. Fail to please and I'll ditch you in the club, don't spend your cab fare if you don't want to walk home in three inch heels.

"Sweet. So many dolls so little time. It's like a candy store in here. I usually go blonde but that red-head's got my eye. Man, oh, man, she's smokin.' Another beer and that's all the dutch I'll need. Before this night's over I'll have her picture for my collection, who needs to wreck the bedstead when you've got Instagram?"

In that culture the women were property and their lives held in the balance by the men. They lived in fear, policed and taught to be ashamed of their bodies and sensual natures. Love was cast out, unable to thrive when given so many conditions. The women died inside, depression robbing them of the ability to fully love their children. Their children grew without knowing the true power of love and afraid of the emotion. And so generation after generation the society was only able to function on negative emotion - power, manipulation, control. Every action was viewed for its impact on the family standing and not as an opportunity to understand their kin better. Murder was preferable to dishonour. With life so hellish who wouldn't put all their effort into achieving an afterlife with no price to high to pay?

For some to over-consume, others must under-consume, and the defence of the toxic rationale for this inequity will pervade all levels of society, all aspects of culture.
