It went on as it began, she did all the work and he expected her to feel lucky that he'd bothered to show up. A man who felt too superior to get on one knee and buy a ring, to put his heart out there in the open, he wasn't fit for marriage. The end was right there at the start, a doomed love affair.

She made every romantic leap and he made none, as the years went by she grew tired and fell, breaking as she did. He sat there and laughed, called her names and became cruel, all to hide the fact that he'd never taken the leap of love at all.
