In the most lonely of places, when you feel forgotten, the divine spirit will find you, mother nature will find you, the reaching embrace of the natural world will find you and call you to return as a beloved and long missed relation.

At first the loneliness was as if I was left in a cold wintry place, but over time I learned how to build an igloo. So, I am still without my lover, still alone in that sense, but being willing to see what is around me in nature, in family or community - those are the icy bricks that protect me from the wind and weather.

Loneliness at first had me turned inside out, my soul exposed to every element of living. Yet in time I learned how to heal, how to grow a new skin and be confident in my own steps.

I was isolated with shame by those who had far more reason to feel it than I. It was as if they grabbed a leg each and pulled until my spine and brain were severed in two, then left me in a freezer in case there were any life spark left to extinguish. They were my abattoir, my slaughter-house. But in time I stitched myself back together, one painful sinew at a time. Then I learned to walk and in time to dance in ways others could only dream of - because my body was restitched with more elastic. I could stretch further than any of them. I'm still lonely of course, yet now I'm ready to move on, to find real friends I can trust.
