When being "bad" makes more money than being "good," and money is power, society and creation tilt toward destruction.

As a rule of thumb, people want simple rules yet it is the application thereof that leads to so much societal and cerebral decay. To work from supreme first principles, to work forwards to delineate virtue from vice, is the kind of brain activity that keeps society and brain healthy and strong... but it takes work... far more work than simple rules. So, thumbs up? Thumbs down? Do I get to live another day or are the monsters arriving? Has humanity grown up or not? I guess we will see.

When society is ready to stone the poets on every corner, the song of love made mute.

Society, from the busy doctor to the road labourer, has long outsourced its higher critical thinking capacities to journalism; thus no complex peaceful society can thrive without a competent and fair press capable of condensing philosophy, science, empathy and logic into easy-to-digest articles.

Society fails to comprehend the harm to one person at the system level as it fails to comprehend the harm to one tree at the system level. It is a key part of what is broken in our world this refusal to see the individual as in a dynamic relationship with the whole.

A society, for good health, must remain child and youth centred at its heart. Our young people are our future and no society can be stable without this love for children deep in its roots. The elders must show the psychological maturity to do the right thing even when it is the harder thing to do, to make personal sacrifices where necessary.

We can also learn much from the words that have come into fashion and fallen out of fashion. What do these words say about the way our society is evolving (or devolving as is sometimes the case)?

When we stop conflations as societies & storytellers when we see that everyone is a unique and beautiful recipe, divine and soulful. Then we will see that there are no groups at all. And when we are individualised in the right way, with great love and unconditional acceptance, we will become one humanity, peaceful, inclusive and capable of sustainability.

We evolved with the adults being dedicated to the care of the infants and the elderly. Our babies were nurtured and our elders honoured. Thus, a society that leaves adults unable to provide that role of nurture is broken. Let us be loud and proud when we say that we love every child and every elder; they are our babies at either end of the spectrum of age. It is the patriot who rises to protect them and the knave who would take both their bread and every chance of emotional comfort. So let's bring on social evolution and be bold enough to design a society that brings health and happiness and learns how to treasure the real treasures instead of running after the mirages this world conjures. There will always be those who cite the cruelty of our species too, yet they fail to mention the role of the environment in those cases and how now we can control our environment and be the socially cooperative animal we are.
