social evolution - quotes and descriptions to inspire creative writing
Women, in terms of evolution, in terms of family protection, are Team B. Men should be our A Team when it comes to defence. If the man is injured or dead, team B is up, that's mama bear mode. Do or die trying. So for women to have good health they must have confidence that the A Team is up and running.
Social evolution is a movement that speaks to everyone at every level of affluence as equal partners. The system in play, capitalism, has been there for generations. Nobody alive now can be blamed for that. More importantly, however, as we remove the money-nexus, those who did well in the money-nexus are well placed to become bold social heroes. They have skills a technological and modern society requires to function. Thus social evolution is for everyone and respects what people are willing to bring to the solution table. Revolution is stupid. Revolution "revolves" as a revolving door and takes you right back to the same mess where you started from. Evolution is progress. That's the way onward, together.
Imperfections are the rocket fuel of social and biological evolution; it's all sacred variation and we need to become smart enough to see that.
Stories and culture alter brain development via neuroplasticity and are thus part of human evolution along with our genes.
There comes a time when "pushing" one's ideas that could save our world becomes morally the right thing to do. And so, if you have the time, I urge you to read my book, "Nexus. A Treatise in Defence of Love as Mankind's Answer," so that we can rescue each other and our planet from the trouble of our current era. Darwinism ignores the evolution of the human as a social animal. Our survival, unless we'd been expelled from our group, was all about specialising as an individual to benefit the group. Thus this "survival of the fittest" mentality is replicating conditions for a human if they were abandoned... hence the breakdown in personal health, brain and body, and the wider breakdown in personal relationships, family, community, nations and international. We have developed an environment that is torture to humans with toxic levels of stress. Fifty thousand years of evolution built an animal that seeks to love, nurture and cooperate as part of a group. Thus, when we provide an environment that is supportive instead of competitive, we will evolve together as one species, find peace and ways to thrive in sustainability. Because when conditions are good, the subtle forces of love, empathy, trust and cooperation build a better brain, making best use of the most recently evolved part of the brain, the prefrontal cortex. In short, the "survival of the fittest" rules only apply when society is broken, when society is fixed we are survival of the group, of the nurtured, of the loving and helpful.
With social evolution came physical evolution. Those parts of the brain that had once been more primitive were either repurposed or shrunk. Our brains adapted as society did. Whereas in the slave-money era the societal pressure was for selfish and primitive behaviours, the opposite was true after the change. We became a world where everyone could survive and those who shone were the nicest people, the creatives who had a passion to make the world a better place for everyone, to make healthy ecosystems, to be artists or grow food. It's been over a millennia since 2018, nothing at all on an evolutionary scale, yet with our science we can chart the shift in brain architecture in synchrony with the social enlightenment. Our species is changing for the better, truly evolving.
The opposite of love is not hate, but indifference. Today, in this modern way of living, indifference has become a survival strategy. Thus, over evolutionary time, those who love will be selected against and considered weak; those who are the coldest will survive the best, willing to use others for whatever means suits their purpose - indifferent to their suffering. This is social evolution, the interplay between society and the way we evolve. For my part, I intend to do everything I can to tilt the balance toward love. Indifference is for snakes, not humans.
There is evolved fear and learned fear. At first, the learned fear part of the amygdala isn't "wired up" to the evolved fear bit; it just sits next to it. Yet with repeat exposure to a stimulus and a fear, it becomes hard-wired into the central (evolved fear part) of the amygdala. So when we see "the bad guy" on the news over and over it rewires our brains to instinctive fear of "the bad guy." But what happens when "the bad guy" is another ethnicity or faith? What if "the bad guy" is another gender, sexual orientation or generation? Then our fear centre is constantly triggered, leading to anxiety and/or aggression. What else could we call these anxieties? Racism? Sexism? Hostility toward youth? Islamophobia? Anti-Semitism? We may naturally be afraid of snakes, yet those who seek financial gain by using fear are rewiring us into a species we are fighting hard not to be.
The industrial revolution broke the ordinary British in body and spirit, working even children fourteen or sixteen hours per day. They were underfed, developed spinal injuries and deaths in the workplace was common. It was greed with indifference to others at its very inception and thus was born the industrialised world - greed barely restrained by laws that breaks the workers in body, soul and psychology daily, bringing early death, depression and a reduced capacity to enjoy living or be a proper parent. Social evolution that pays attention to who we are as a species, how we can heal, love and cooperate can build us a new system and let us do away with this outdated Victorian "combustion engine" of a system in which we are the fuel. Perhaps then we can stop the pollution, empty the prisons and find good health.
